For Good Works

I often wondered as I grew up why the Old Testament was so important. I thought that the New Testament was what I needed to focus on because of the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus….along with all He taught. But, Jesus also taught his disciples that the entirety of the OT actually pointed to Him. So, now I’ve grown to appreciate and see how important OT Scripture is.

I’ve been reading through the Prophets in the Old Testament and have been struck by how many times God repeatedly asked His people to repent from their sins and humble themselves before Him. God used the prophets to actively warn the people that if they did not choose to return to Him, then they would face all of the consequences that God laid out before Moses and others.

One of the biggest blessings about working at Pizza Ranch is how many organizations we partner with, especially those that have a similar Kingdom perspective as us. One of those partners is LifeLight – a Christian organization that famously puts on the LifeLight musical festivals that are free to everyone to attend and hear the Good News of Jesus.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” – Mathew 11:28-30

Do you ever feel like all we as a society do is rush from one thing to the next? From one event to the next. From one meal to the next. From one activity to the next. You get my point.
