ORANGE CITY – Rob and Mel Lucus were named Franchisees of the Year by Pizza Ranch Inc. at the company’s 2022 Awards Banquet June 14th at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells, WI.

The Franchisee of the Year Award celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of a Pizza Ranch franchisee and their commitment to the Pizza Ranch brand. Pizza Ranch Inc. is honored to recognize their hard work and dedication to Pizza Ranch and their communities.

“This is an amazing honor,” said Rob Lucus upon receiving the award. “Thank you to Adrie (Groeneweg), and to the Pizza Ranch Executive Team."

Rob’s journey began in 2004 as a delivery driver and dish washer at the Tea, SD Pizza Ranch where he worked for four years. In the spring of 2010 he moved to Watertown, SD and worked alongside Ross and Jen Olson before moving to Minnesota in November of 2010 where he became the owner and operator of the Morris, MN location.

In March of 2018 Rob, alongside his wife Mel, purchased Glenwood, MN.

“It was during this time that I really remembered my training and working under (Todd) Pharis and (Mark) Moeller,” Lucus said. “What great leaders you were to me. And to Ross, who knew me less than 6 months, and trusted his brand-new store to me. You guys were and are part of this journey.”

Lucus challenged and encouraged all the young General Managers and crew members across Pizza Ranch land.

“I can honestly say that even though I hold a degree in Law Enforcement, I would never give this up to do that job,” Lucus said. “Work hard and pursue your dreams and store ownership is definitely a part of your future.”
