Sioux Falls 41st St Receives Community Impact Award
October 13, 2020Orange City, IA – Pizza Ranch Inc. awarded its annual Community Impact Award to Todd Pharis, Mark Moeller and Michael Pharis of the 41st St. Sioux Falls Pizza Ranch at the company’s Awards Banquet held in Arnolds Park, IA on Monday, September 21st.
The Community Impact Award recognizes a franchisee or Ranch that has made a positive impact in their community and lives out the Pizza Ranch Vision, “To Glorify God by Positively Impacting the World.”
“The winner of this year’s award is a great example of what it means to positively impact your community,” said Pizza Ranch Chief Vision Officer Perry Krosschell. “The sheer number of things they were involved in is impressive, but the fact that they did much of this with a closed restaurant set them apart.”
On September 10, 2019, the city of Sioux Falls was hit with several tornadoes that affected the entire community, including destroying the 41st St. location.
(Franchisees) Todd Pharis, Mark Moeller and Michael Pharis felt that Sioux Falls would be negatively impacted by the loss of their restaurant, so they committed to continue to provide opportunities to bless their community,” said Pizza Ranch President and Founder Adrie Groeneweg. “The 41st St. Pizza Ranch has lived out our company’s Vision ‘to glorify God by positively impacting the world’ despite their situation. Pizza Ranch is blessed to honor these Franchisees with our Community Impact Award.”
“Days after the tornado, we agreed to continue to do Community Impact Events, even in the absence of a functioning business.” Todd Pharis said during the company’s Award Banquet. “We would ask for 10-15 volunteers to help with each event, and we would have 30-50 employees show up with big smiles,” added Pharis. “We are very proud of our team."
Over the past 12 months the 41st St. Pizza Ranch volunteered at Habitat for Humanity, Feeding South Dakota, Laundry with Love, Sioux Falls Cares, St. Francis House and hosted a Blood Drive.
Todd, Mark, and Michael were awarded $1,000 for receiving the Community Impact Award to donate to a local charity of their choosing. The donation will go to Feeding South Dakota to help them fulfill their mission of “ending hunger in South Dakota.”
