Thursday Thought - Behind the Scenes

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Prayer

Oftentimes in life, the people who are outspoken and in the public view get all of the attention. Even in the Bible you can see this play out. Moses? He was out front, leading God's people out of the hands of their captors. David? He defeated a massive warrior in order to win a massive battle. And he then went on to become the king. Paul? He found himself in front of key rulers and leaders of the Roman empire as he spread the Gospel.

Yet what most of these people also showed was the importance of the work being done behind the scenes was what helped them be successful when the pressure was high and the spotlight was on. Moses? He met with God in prayer. God even met with him, 1-1, in private, in the desert, via a bush that was on fire! David? He would be alone in pastures with a flock of animals, seeking God. He would hide in caves and in dark valleys, seeking God. Paul? He spent years in solitude, preparing to spread the word of God.

Usually what we "see" of people is the tip of the iceberg. It is what they do when nobody is looking and no attention is being given that determines who they are when the light is shining on them.
