HUMBLE ROOTS

Adrie Groeneweg had just one question in Hull, Iowa, in 1981 when he was just 19 years old. It was simple. Why does everyone have to drive out of town to get a pizza? With just six specialty and single topping pizza recipes developed around the kitchen table, Pizza Ranch was born.

The residents of Hull flocked to the young restaurant for made-from-scratch sauce and dough and other fresh ingredients. As word spread, Pizza Ranch grew. The dream that began in the heart of a young man now extends to fifteen states. It’s been quite a trail ride. Learn more about our history!

SUPPORT CENTER CULTURE

A Place Where Work and Purpose Align

LIVING OUT OUR MISSION
SUPPORTING WHAT MATTERS MOST
COMMUNITY WITH PURPOSE
WHERE LEADERS ARE DEVELOPED

LIVING OUT OUR MISSION

Serving isn’t just something we do in our restaurants—it’s who we are.

Every department participates in a service project each year, and we offer two service trip opportunities annually for our team members. One of those is with Wildwood Hills Ranch near Des Moines, Iowa, where you can serve for a day or up to five days.  We also offer a service trip to Jamaica each year, open to anyone in the chain who wants to participate.

And because giving back matters to us, when you volunteer, you only use half your PTO. We believe serving others should be supported—not sacrificed.

SUPPORTING WHAT MATTERS MOST

Your family matters—and so does your career. We know that sometimes those priorities compete. That’s why we work hard to create an environment where flexibility is real and using your PTO is encouraged, not frowned upon. When life calls, we want you to answer it. Family comes first here.

COMMUNITY WITH PURPOSE

Beyond your role, there are meaningful ways to connect and get involved.

Our Fit & Fun Committee keeps energy high and calendars full—planning office events like bake-offs, senior photo challenges, wellness competitions, prize giveaways, and (of course) plenty of good food to keep everyone fueled.

Our Barnabas Team serves as our prayer team, helps lead weekly devotions, and helps keep our Pizza Ranch Serves blog active and encouraging.

We also offer an annual Bible study group, often reading through the Bible together over the course of the year.

Whether you’re looking for community, fun, spiritual growth, or all three, there’s a place for you here.

WHERE LEADERS ARE DEVELOPED

As Pizza Ranch continues to grow, we intentionally grow our Support Center team right along with it. We regularly evaluate our structure, create new positions, and provide opportunities for our current team members to expand and evolve in their roles. We’re proud of our long history of tenure and promoting from within—it’s part of who we are.

At Pizza Ranch, growth isn’t limited to your title. We believe in developing the whole person. In addition to career advancement opportunities, we invest in personal development in meaningful ways. We are proud sponsors of the Global Leadership Summit and host a local site each year in Orange City, encouraging all staff to attend and continue sharpening their leadership skills.

Visionaries at Work

At the Support Center, you’ll find a welcoming, friendly environment where coworkers genuinely care about one another. We pride ourselves on being a fun, family-friendly workplace where you can enjoy what you do and who you do it with. You’ll feel supported not only in your work, but in your life outside of it—through meaningful relationships built on trust, care, and a shared belief that family comes first.

A dedicated space within our office for prayer and reflection, open to anyone who may need it and thoughtfully stocked with resources such as books and devotionals.

THURSDAY MORNING PRAYER

Every Thursday morning, our team gathers for a time of prayer and devotion to start the day. During this time, we lift up one another’s praises and challenges, as well as prayer requests shared by our managers and franchisees in the field.

FAITH IN THE WORKPLACE

Many of our meetings begin with prayer, and it’s not uncommon to hear coworkers sharing a recent Bible passage or reflecting on how they felt led to serve and how that made an impact.
