Foundations Workshop

The Foundations Workshop is a hands-on learning experience designed for both upcoming and current managers and owners with over 100 graduates each year. Hosted by the Training & Development Department at the Pizza Ranch Support Center roughly every month, this workshop covers a wide range of essential topics—from making our cravable food and managing labor and food costs to sharpening leadership skills, mastering interviews, and focusing shifts effectively.

FunZone Workshops

Each year, Pizza Ranch and our game partners host two hands-on FunZone Technical Training Workshops — helping operators, managers, and franchisees sharpen their skills and keep games running at their best. More than 100 graduates have completed the program and joined the next generation of arcade technicians.

Our FunZone Manager-in-Training (MIT) program is a week-long certification that builds leadership skills in operations, team development, and guest experience.

Pizza Ranch National Conference

The Pizza Ranch National Conference is an annual gathering for franchisees and managers to come together, learn, and celebrate. Attendees get an inside look at the status of the business, participate in Pizza Ranch-focused breakout sessions, and connect with vendors at the Vendor Fair. The conference also highlights the incredible achievements of our teams through the Awards Lunch and Awards Banquet, making it a time to both gain valuable insights and honor the people who make Pizza Ranch legendary.

Global Leadership Summit

Pizza Ranch is proud to be a national sponsor of the Global Leadership Summit, an annual event that brings world-class leadership training to leaders across industries. Each restaurant receives two complimentary tickets, giving managers the opportunity to gain new insights, develop their leadership skills, and bring fresh ideas back to their teams. This experience helps managers grow personally and professionally while strengthening the leadership culture across every Pizza Ranch location.

Certified Training Restaurant

Certified Training Restaurants are select Pizza Ranch locations authorized by the Training & Development Department to host and guide participants in the Manager in Training Program. These restaurants meet high standards of performance, leadership, and guest satisfaction—serving as models for operational excellence.

To earn certification, a restaurant must demonstrate strong sales, exceptional guest feedback, and consistent use of Pizza Ranch-approved systems and processes. Each Certified Training Restaurant is led by an experienced General Manager and a fully staffed management team who have completed all required training programs. These locations represent the best of the best—where future leaders come to learn, grow, and experience the Pizza Ranch way firsthand.

Having my location be a training store ensures that we stay at the top of our game, giving legendary service. It is a way for us to continue to learn and develop our managers and team, and it helps us live out the Mission & Vision of Pizza Ranch. When we put the needs of others first, we empower our staff to perform at their best. When members of the community see our passion and commitment through our actions, they become our supporters - giving us the opportunity to continue to do more to give back to our community; both where we live and the to larger Pizza Ranch territory.

I require the MIT (Manager in Training) Program because leadership should be earned, not assumed. This training ensures every manager understands our standards, lives our values, and are equipped to lead a team, not just run shifts. That’s how we protect our culture and prepare our people for long-term success.

The level of knowledge and confidence gained through the MIT (Manager in Training) Program allows us faster advancements to our goals as a team. Without that initial investment into a new manager, we would be increasing potential turnover, poor morale in our teams as well as poor profitability and sales growth.
