Reading, knowing, and using the Word of God in our lives is so important for those of us who claim Christ as Lord. One way we can do that is by Praying while we read….To pray Scripture.

Psalm 20:1-5 - A song of David. It’s a prayer used before heading out to battle. It can also be one that is prayed before we head into our day. One of the most powerful things I’ve heard when I visited some friends overnight, was to hear him praying over on the other side of the house out loud. I could feel the presence of the Holy Spirit overtake me.

Praying Psalm 20:1-5 might look like this:

Lord, I pray that You answer me when I pray. In good times or in times of trouble.
That You God would protect me and my family…my work.
Father, send me help from Your Holy Place.
Lift me up and support me from Heaven.
Remember, and use, all my gifts and talents today. See them acceptable unto You.
Accept all my efforts and sacrifices as glorifying You.
Please give me, my family, and my coworkers all we need.
May You make all our plans successful.
Then Lord…We….at the end of the day…We will all celebrate what You have done.
We will praise Your Name. Amen.

So…May the Lord give you everything you ask for….In Jesus’ name.
