We’ve been working through the Book of Acts, watching the early church flourish. The Spirit of God was moving. But then something started to happen, again. There was some division among the Christians. People were grumbling against each other and some complaining happening. Read Acts 6:1-7.
There was a cultural group that felt like “their people” weren’t being taken care of. The two groups were the Grecians who were Jews living a Greek culture, and the Hebrews who lived the Hebrew culture.
The lesson is that the Spirit of God moves freely and powerfully when there’s love. The love of God and others. When there’s division and strife among the believers, the Spirit of God doesn’t move as freely. The Apostles jumped all over this, fixing the problem immediately.
May each of us do the same. May we be the ones who squash divisiveness quickly. May we go to God and the other person we’re struggling with immediately and work through it.
