Thursday Thought - Why me?

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

When I think of how fortunate I am to have a God that loves me so much that He would make a way for me to be in heaven with Him forever, I cannot help but find myself asking "Why me?" Even an internal conversation that goes like this: "God, why would you love ME so much that you would save me? You know what I've done in my life. You know the bad decisions. The bad thoughts. The bad words that I've spoken. I have met thousands of people much more deserving of your love and goodness than I am. So why God? Why me? Why and how would you see fit to rescue me?"

Well, it is in those times that we must turn to our Bible and see what God says to us when we ask "Why me?"

FIRST, KNOW THAT IT IS GOD WHO CREATED YOU.

Genesis 1:1 "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth."

Genesis 1:16 "then God said "Let us make man in our image, after our likeness."

Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

Psalm 139:13-14 "For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

AND KNOW THAT OUR SIN SEPARATES US FROM OUR HOLY GOD, WE SIN AND CANNOT SAY WE DON'T

Isaiah 59:2 "But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear."

Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

1 John 1:8 "If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

BUT GOD LOVES YOU SO MUCH PERSONALLY, HE MADE A WAY FOR US TO BE WITH HIM.

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world (and everything in it, including you and me) that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life."

Romans 5:8 "but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

1 John 4:10 "In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins."

You see. The answer to "why me" is "because God is a faithful God. And He loves you."

Amen
