One evening, while walking home from work, I noticed how easy it was to see what was directly in front of me (either by flashlight or the nearest streetlight), and what was in the distance under the next streetlight. But it was pretty hard to see what was in between.

Sometimes walking with God is like walking down a dark street. In our walk of faith, God has given us promises of what is to come (the streetlights), and He guides us step by step through His word (the flashlight). But then there’s that darker part between the two lights: that’s where we have to trust God and hang onto His word, which lights our way.

²¹ And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left. (Isaiah 30:21)
