Tuesday Truths - A Lost Coin
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
The second parable Jesus tells the Pharisees in Luke 15 is about a lost coin. A woman turns her house apart, looking for her lost coin. When she finally finds it, she calls her friends to celebrate with her. You may be wondering what the Biblical significance is of a lost coin. After all, many of us probably have a good handful of loose change sitting between our couch cushions or under our car seats. Well, this coin was a silver drachma, part of a set of ten, likely part of this woman’s bridal dowry. Once again, we see how she rejoices over finding something precious.
