I’ll be the first to admit it- February and March seem to be the most challenging months for me. Every year about this time I start searching my flower beds for the first signs of life, and as we move towards Easter, I look with hope for signs of Spring and as well as personal renewal. Today, however, I’m writing this on the second of two blizzards in the past few weeks, and Spring is feeling so very far away. I looked for inspiration on what God has to say about Spring, and found the following. May you also find hope in this season of waiting.
Isiah 61:11
For as the earth brings forth its sprouts, and as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.
James 5:7
Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.
Song of Solomon 2:11-12
For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.
