So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Key Verse:  Romans 6:11 “In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.”

The power of the gospel doesn’t just forgive sin; it breaks its power.

The power of the gospel doesn’t just forgive our sins; it changes our identity. Our walk in life is different.  Do you believe that?

In Christ, we are no longer defined or controlled by sin. Paul calls believers to actively believe and live out—the reality that sin is no longer our master. To stop laying at the foot of the cross as a broken sinner and start pressing into the power of his promises.

Key Takeaways:

  • Paul asks, “Should we just keep sinning?” His answer: “Absolutely not—because something fundamental has changed.” (v. 1-2)  We walk different now.
  • We are united with Christ in His death and resurrection (v. 3–5)
  • Our old self was crucified with Him (v. 6)
  • Sin is no longer our master (v. 14)

Freedom in Christ isn’t the freedom to sin—it’s the freedom not to. See also Titus 2:11-12 as it gives us the power to say no.

Big Question: Is there sin in your life that still has authority over you?  If there is, recognize it, resist it, turn from it, pursue the Lord.

May we all “Count ourselves dead to sin, and alive in Christ.”  May we all claim the power available to us.

Prayer: Thank God for breaking sin’s power. Confess where you’ve lived like sin is still in charge. And ask the Spirit to help you present yourself to God today.
