Friday Devotional - Pursuing Excellence In Word & Deed

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to respond to every person.”
It says our conversations need to be “full of grace.”
- Don’t win arguments…win people
- Encouraging…. not tearing down.
- Preserving truth…offering hope.
- Offering truth…with kindness.
- Wise…and timely.
****When I speak do people hear grace?
Colossians 4:6 says, “Let your conversations be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to respond to every person.”
Our conversations need to be “seasoned with salt.”
It adds flavor to conversations
It preserves
Our words and actions are supposed to add to people, not take away.
To bring life, not decay.
****Think of our words as being a preservative in a decaying culture – bringing hope, truth, and encouragement.
So, the big questions are: Do people around us get filled up and encouraged? Or do they get torn down and discouraged?
Words Matter – but actions often speak louder.
Our world needs us. We can make a difference everyday with our words and deeds. Changing the trajectory of lives.
