Monday Mission - Bible in a Year

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Monday Mission
A person reads a large open book while sitting on a couch, with a focus on the book's pages and their hand holding the edge.

I know we are already well into the new year, but have you ever thought about or wanted to read the Bible in a year? There are MANY programs out there that give daily direction on what to read to complete it in one calendar year. Here at the office a group of us are following "The Bible Recap" by Tara-Leigh Cobble. You can download the Plan on the "Bible" App or even purchase a book online

Yes, it is a long-haul. Yes, it is a commitment. Yes, some days I don't want to do my reading. Whenever I have those negative thoughts about doing my reading I try and remember these two verses:

Romans 12:2 "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will."

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God[a] may be complete, equipped for every good work."

I also connect it with going to the gym consistently. Yes, I don't always want to go, but always feel better after I do. Yes, some workouts (readings) are better (more meaningful) than others, but they all build upon each other and after awhile you begin to notice a change in yourself. A change that, if you continue to nurture, will continue to grow and forever become a part of you.
