Tuesday Truths - The Only Constant is Change

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Tuesday Truths
A sunrise over a grassy landscape with small trees, mist rising, and a partly cloudy sky with the sun shining through the clouds.

My youngest has been working on one of his first ever memory verses at school - it's Genesis 8:22 which reads:

“As long as the earth endures,
seed time and harvest,
cold and heat,
summer and winter,
day and night
will never cease.”

These words come not long after the flood waters had subsided and God sent a rainbow as a sign and promise that he would never send such a flood again.

I probably read this verse 20+ times in helping my son memorize it, and a couple things really started to come alive for me:

1. Change is inevitable, what we have today won't last forever - we should always be planning ahead for what may come next, but also treasure what we have today.

2. With the Lord "hope springs eternal" for those in a tough spot. He promises change, new seasons, a new day. Lean into Him during the tough times in life, He will never give you more than you can handle and will see you through it all in His perfect time.
