Monday Mission - Give God Praise

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

There’s a few reasons why I tend to keep my radio station tuned to the local Christian station – the words spoken are kid-friendly, no inappropriate ads played and DJs that have both fun and heart-felt content. But another big reason is that the songs played always re-focus my mind and heart on things not of this world; whether I’m having a great day or a rough one, songs that turn my heart toward God and His love, mercy, grace and faithfulness always keep my thoughts centered on God, just as Paul advises the church of Philippi:
Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.
If I’m going to hear a song enough times to memorize it (and oftentimes hear my young daughters singing by heart as well), then I want it to be something that gives God the praise and glory that only He deserves.
Our challenge today is to think about what sounds and sights we are taking in and considering whether those follow the advise in Philippians about things that we as Christ-followers should be taking into our minds and hearts.
