So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

John 10:3–4 (NIV)

"The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them, and his sheep follow him because they know his voice."

The Good Shepherd gives us a powerful picture of leadership—He goes before His sheep. He doesn't simply tell them where to go; He leads the way. Great leadership works the same way. People are more likely to follow when they see us modeling the values, work ethic, integrity, and commitment we expect from them. If we want people to serve, we should serve. If we want them to care, we should care. If we want them to step up, we should be willing to step up first. This week, don't just tell people what needs to be done—show them the way. Lead from the front.

Leadership thought:

Mission:
Ask yourself: Am I asking my people to do things I'm unwilling to do myself?

This week, don't just tell people what needs to be done—show them the way. People are more willing to follow someone who is willing to go where they're asking others to go. Lead from the front.
