“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5

Mondays often come with a plan. We know what needs to get done, what problems need to be solved, and what we hope the week will look like. There’s nothing wrong with planning—but Proverbs 3:5 reminds us where our confidence should ultimately rest. Trusting God doesn’t mean we understand everything He is doing. In fact, trust becomes most important when we don’t understand. We may not know why a door closed, why something is taking longer than expected, or why the path ahead looks different than we imagined.

Our natural response is to rely on what we can see, predict, and control. But God invites us to something different: dependence instead of control.

As you begin this week, identify one thing you’re trying too hard to control. Maybe it’s a decision, a relationship, your work, your finances, your family, or simply uncertainty about what comes next. Bring it to God and pray: “Lord, I don’t fully understand what You are doing, but I trust You. Give me wisdom for what I can do today and faith to leave the rest with You.”
