During a time in my life when certain things that seemed solid turned as soggy as wet “streamers” on a rainy homecoming weekend, I came across the book “You Can Bet the Ranch” by Pat Wellman. She shares about a time in her life when her friends were making less than legendary decisions, and she took it to God. It just didn’t make sense. How did a person who started out so well end up on such a rocky path? God reminded Pat what He told Peter, “What is that to you? You follow Me.” (John 21:22) Don’t base your stability on someone else’s life. They’re all just human, too. Instead, stay grounded and rooted in Christ, and keep your focus on following Him. God never changes, and you can bet the Ranch on that!
