Thursday Thoughts - The Eiffel Tower

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Fun fact:  Did you know that the Eiffel Tower grows in height by up to 6 inches over the course of each year?  As it is built from thousands of tons of iron, the metal contracts during the winter, and expands due to the heat of the sun in the summer.

This unique fact made me reflect on what we can learn from this engineering masterpiece.   The tower doesn’t change its fundamental design as it is exposed to the environment, but instead grows and adapts, expanding without breaking.

Our own routines can prevent us from flexing and changing to our environment.  Consistency and routine is great, until it’s not; and it can sometimes prevent us from stretching and growing in our own  lives.  Real resilience lies in being adaptable and flexible to our changing environments, much like the Eiffel Tower.
