Friday Devotional - Turning Anxiousness to Excitement by Perry Krossechell
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
There’s a lot of anxious folks around here at Corp Pizza Ranch this week. People are scrambling to prepare well for the Pizza Ranch National Conference coming up. I think that everyone reading this can relate to the feelings of anxiousness once in a while. It can weigh us down…no doubt.
Yes, we all need to do our due diligence, to prepare well. But may I suggest that when we start feeling anxious, that we also work to turn that anxiousness into excitement. God’s got us…He’s got you. (Psalm 5:1-3) talks about crying out to God with our needs, and then waiting with anticipation to see what He’ll do with it. When we feel the nervousness coming on, the weight of it all, may we flip the switch in our mind. Give it over to the Lord, trust that the Holy Spirit will help, and be excited to see what God does with it.
God promises us in His Word that He’ll be in us, beside us, and flow out of us when we put our trust in Him (Acts 1-2).
That the Lord will keep us in perfect peace as we stay close to Him. (Isaiah 26:3)
That we can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:13)
