Monday Mission - Be Prepared
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
1 Peter 3:15 is such a strong and bold verse for Christians. It says, “But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
There are a few things I take away from this verse. The first is the obvious one: always be prepared to give an account of your faith. Always be confident and bold in what you believe, and not only that, but know why you believe these things.
The second can be a bit overlooked sometimes. When giving an account of your faith, do this with gentleness and respect. It can be so easy to get defensive and aggressive with those who may not believe the same as you. Our faith and beliefs will not be received well by non-believers if we are not gentle and respectful when sharing the Word of God and answering any questions that come with it.
Read the Word as much as you can. This is what gives us spiritual life, confidence in our faith, and power from the Holy Spirit to live out the Great Commission and spread the Word of God!
