Monday Mission - Running the Race
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Life is full of distractions. It seems like something is always fighting for our attention—especially in a world dominated by social media. Companies literally pay to capture our focus through ads, videos, and content. With so much noise, it’s no wonder we may struggle to stay focused—whether it’s spending time with family, working on a project, building better habits, or pursuing a side passion. So, how do we give our time and energy to what truly matters, especially in the way God intended?
Hebrews 12:1 gives us a clear challenge: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.” This verse reminds us to let go of anything holding us back—whether it’s a bad habit, too much screen time, staying up too late, or something deeper like a sin we’re wrestling with, a strained relationship, or an area of our life we know needs to change. Through Christ, we are already forgiven when we come to Him. From there, we can ask God to show us what’s hindering us—and have the courage to make real changes. When we do, we can finally run the race He’s marked out for us. And along the way, we may just find ourselves achieving goals we’ve long put off.
