Tuesday Truth - God's Grace is Sufficient
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
We might think at times that we have sinned so bad that God cannot possibly love us. Or that we somehow fall short by not spending enough time in prayer, not spending enough time reading the Bible, or not spending enough time or resources helping grow God's ministry. All of these things can make us feel insignificant or even worse, that God doesn't love us. This can cause us to be feeling like God has abandoned us even.
Yet in the Bible, God says "My grace is sufficient for you." (2 Cor 12:9)
This verse is part of a chapter of a book written by the apostle Paul who was talking about boasting about God. Although there are different ways that the chapter can be interpreted, one thing I see is that Paul is saying that there was a "thorn in his flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me". And I believe what he is saying is that he had some sin nature, or some physical indifference that made him not feel truly whole or clean. Not confident in his situation. Yet, God told him "My grace is sufficient for you". And what was Paul's response to that? "I WILL BOAST ALL THE MORE GLADLY OF MY WEAKNESSES, SO THAT THE POWER OF CHRIST MAY REST UPON ME."
Let us boast in God today for his grace.
