Tuesday Truth- The Power of Faith in the works of Jesus Christ
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Sometimes it can be difficult for people to understand grace. The western culture of the world is saturated with marketing and communication that makes people feel like they need more things, need to do more things, achieve more, and provide more. That can lead to a belief system that what you get in life is based on your works.
But when it comes to the topic of what happens when people die, and how do you avoid eternity in hell and spend eternity in heaven...it's the exact opposite of what people are used to. Instead of having a huge, never-ending To-Do list of what a person must do in order to get to heaven...there's grace. There's God making a route that doesn't only exist for the people who are really smart, or have a never-ending will to achieve things, live in the biggest cities or smallest cities. Rather it is for anybody and everybody because all you need to do is BELIEVE and CONFESS. All of the "work" has been done already by Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary. And although it is difficult for humans to be "okay with" letting somebody else do the work so that we get the gain...that is the TRUTH of the Gospel message.
Romans 10:9-13 "...because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, "Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing His riches on all who call on Him. For everyone who calls on the name of The Lord will be saved."
Have you "earned" heaven by admitting and believing that God's plan for you to go to heaven has been complete in Jesus Christ and all the work has been done? Have you put your faith in Him?
