Last week we heard about the Great Gift that Jesus was talking to his disciples about.  This Great Gift is the Holy Spirit, given to anyone who claims Christ as their Savior.  The Holy Spirit fills us immediately after conversion, is in us, around us, and overflows out of us throughout our life. 

What is the purpose of the Holy Spirit?  

• The Holy Spirit helps us, teaches us, prompts us, transforms us and grows us in our personal walk with Christ.

What are we supposed to do with the Holy Spirit?  What’s the plan?  

Acts 1:8 says, ”But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 

• We’re supposed to receive it and then use it to be a witness of Christ wherever we go. To be an example to others, to show evidence of it in our lives, and to tell others about the great news; that's our job.  The plan is to witness in Jerusalem (locally), then in Judea and Samaria (regionally), and then all over the world.

May we Glorify God to overflowing as we live out His plan.
