Friday Devotional – Being Willing
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Have you ever gone on a trip where you didn’t have to plan anything? There were no worries, except to show up and enjoy. Each day brought a new adventure. Everything was carefully planned out by whoever set it up…maybe a tour guide. All you had to be was willing to follow.
Wouldn’t it be great if we could live each day like it was an adventure? Instead of trying to make things happen ourselves during the day, we were able to simply enjoy it? Well, I believe that the Lord wants that kind of life for us. He wants to be that kind of guide for our lives. We can literally live each day alert to what God has prepared for us. Waking up knowing that He’s in control of all our steps, and that He’s with us every moment, whether we sense His presence or not. Even during the tough times.
May we each be willing to follow him wherever He leads. Because He is there. No matter how steep or treacherous our path before us, the safest place to be is by His side. 1 Peter 2:21 says: “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps.”
