Friday Devotional – Expect the Unexpected

From time to time, God orchestrates our life in such a way that He does His work in His way…. often in unexpected, unplanned, and surprising ways. And it’s not always easy to accept.

Isaiah 43:19 says, “Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing. Now it will spring forth; do you not perceive it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, rivers in the desert.”

His message to Israel and to us is to expect the unexpected, to trust in His ongoing control over the world and our life.

God is not a static God. He is always doing something…. even in our most desperate moments. May we pay attention and accept that God is at work… and that His outcome is good. When we do this, we can shed some of our anxiety and fear, trusting in Him.
