Friday Devotional – Just if I’d

When I was a young Christian, I heard a lot about a word called “Justified”. Romans 5:1 says, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.” Justified can best be defined as saying “just if I’d” not sinned. God sees me Just if I’d not sinned. What a gift…praise be to Him.

When our sins weigh heavily upon us, go to Him. Confess our wrong doings, which He knows all about before we say a word. Whenever we stumble or fall, He is there to help us up. Nothing can separate us from Him.

Our tendency is to hide from our sin, seeking refuge in the darkness. We indulge ourself in self-pity, denial, self-righteousness, blaming and hatred.

The Bible tells us to stay in the light. God is the light of the world, and His illumination decimates the darkness. Draw close to Him and let His light envelop us, driving out the darkness and permeating us with peace.

1 John 1:7 says, “But if I walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.”

Colossians 2:14 says, “He forgave all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.”
