So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

Friday Devotional

We all go through stages in life, right? Some of you are empty nesters and maybe grandparents now. Some of you, like me, are in the high school years with children and are facing the first “lasts” of senior year of high school, which can make almost any mama emotional to think about right? Even my husband at times has mentioned that thinking about the “lasts” of our senior’s final year of high school is sad. Or the decision of going to college or not and where they will go to college. Some of you are going through the elementary and middle school years that bring about its own challenges in life. And the rest of you are still in the diapers, formula, day care and every little sickness known to man coming through your front door.

What is the one thing we all search for at any stage of life we are in at any given time? Wisdom. Wisdom to tell our kids the right thing at the right time in any stage of life that they are in. Wisdom in the workplace . Wisdom to make the right decisions, Wisdom to hire the right employees, Wisdom to plan, Wisdom to see the path we need to go down. We are always seeking the magical answer that will solve all of life’s troubles and problems in a heartbeat, aren’t we?

The bible defines wisdom as deriving from a relationship with God Himself. Wisdom is considered a gift from God that helps us make good choices and live a righteous life. Let’s think about the benefits of wisdom according to the bible:

  • Guidance: Wisdom helps us make wise decisions and guides us on the right path.
  • Protection: Wisdom products us from harm and helps us avoid pitfalls and dangers.
  • Success: The Bible teaches that wisdom leads to success and prosperity.
  • Discernment: Wisdom enables us to discern between right and wrong, good, and evil.
  • Humility: Wisdom fosters humility and helps us recognize our limitations.
  • Peace: The pursuit of wisdom brings inner peace and contentment.
  • Blessings: The Bible promises blessings to those who seek and embrace wisdom.

We are always looking for the quick and magical answer to all the trials and tribulations we face. Often, I have to remind myself to stop over thinking, over analyzing, and worrying about what the fate of today’s issue is and turn to God and share my struggles and share my questions in life with him and he will provide. Will it be a quick answer? We all know that it isn’t always a quick answer, but the answer will be revealed when the timing is right.

Proverbs for me is a great place to read to remind myself of the wisdom that God shares with us and all we need to do is seek his wisdom in our time of need.

Proverbs 4 – I encourage you to look up Proverbs 4 for great reminders of Wisdom.

Other verses I reference from Proverbs when I need to remind myself where my wisdom should come from include:

Proverbs 2:6 – For the Lord gives Wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

Proverbs 13:10 – Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.

Proverbs 16:16 – How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver!

Proverbs 19:8 – The one who gets wisdom loves life; the one who cherishes understanding will soon prosper.

Today, I just want to remind everyone to seek Wisdom from a higher power. We sometimes need to be reminded that God is one that is in control of all things that we do, see, and have and he will give us the Wisdom that we need to keep moving forward. Now matter the issue, the struggle, the trial that you are facing, or maybe even just the stage in life that you are in seeking Wisdom from God our Father will help you find the path you need to continue living the life that he has chosen for you, your family, your team, and your life.
