Monday Mission : Ask for Help

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Monday Mission
Help

I'm quick to say "if you want something done right, do it yourself". Does this sound like you? Do you have a hard time letting others in? Do you have a hard time trusting others? Do you struggle to open up your heart and emotions to others? To share life with others?

I have a post-it-note on my desk as a constant reminder that says "Asking for Help : not a sign of weakness, but an understanding of strength". I've learned the importance of letting others in, asking others for help, being vulnerable and open with others that you trust, those that create a safe place for you. God built us for relationships, not to be alone. We read in Genesis 2:18 “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him”. Whenever you think you are strong enough or tough enough or smart enough to push forward on your own, remember how you were made...to be in relation with one another.

Whether it be a project at work or school, a strained relationship with friends or family, don't try and tackle that alone. Invite God into that space, invite a trusted confidant into that space, take off the blinders and get a larger perspective from those that love you.
