Monday Mission - Living in Gratitude
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Today we find ourselves on the last day of the first month of 2022. Did the first month go exactly as you envisioned? Were you able to maintain all those New Year’s resolutions?
One goal I set for myself going into 2022 was to live a life full of gratitude. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 instructs us to, “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” Here are a few of the habits I have tried to integrate into my life to be more intentional with my gratitude:
-I started a word document on my computer. Each morning before I open my email, I tried to add 3-5 items to the list of what I am thankful for this year.
-When I buckle my seatbelt and start my car, I say a quick prayer thanking God for 3 blessings I have experienced today. (If you have kids, this is a great one to involve your kids with!)
-My husband and I keep a dry erase marker in the bathroom. Each week we write down what we are thankful for on the mirror throughout the week. On Sundays we erase the mirror and start again.
Consider incorporating one or more of these habits into your life so you can live a life filled with thanksgiving and gratitude.
