Thursday Thought - Manure Happens
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
“Manure Happens” is an interesting/funny take on an old phrase. I heard this on a podcast interview Tim Timmons gave about going through tough times in life. While manure may initially seem bad and something we want to avoid, it also has many beneficial purposes. The benefits of manure are: a good source of macronutrients, improves soil fertility, improves physical properties and aerates the soil. Crops that are grown on land treated with manure produce healthier crops. Perhaps if we can change our mindset regarding trials in our life, we can see how God wants to use the tough stuff in our lives to help grow us and teach us the importance of dependency on Him.
James 1:2-4: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
