Thursday Thoughts : Raised from the Dead

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Thursday Thoughts
Raised from the Dead

As you read through the Bible you come across some amazing and supernatural stories : the great flood, the Red Sea parting, the Sun standing still, the walls of Jericho tumbling down, Jesus feeding 5,000 with 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish, water to wine and so many more. The supernatural events that captured my attention the most are around "raising people from the dead". We all certainly are familiar with Jesus conquering death, our great salvation, and probably familiar with Jesus raising his good friend Lazarus as well. However, are you familiar with the stories of :

- The widow of Zarephath’s son in 1 Kings 17:17–24

- The Shunammite woman’s son in 2 Kings 4:18-37

- The man raised out of Elisha’s grave in 2 Kings 13:20–21

- The widow of Nain’s son in Luke 7:11-17

- Jairus’ daughter in Luke 8:40-56

- Various saints in Jerusalem in Matthew 27:50–53

- Tabitha in Acts 9:36–43

- Eutychus in Acts 20:7-12

So many amazing stories of God conquering death! To us sinful human beings death is so complete, so final, so abrupt....but to our Loving God and Father death is just a part of the story; a tool he uses for His Glory. In your prayers today dwell on these stories of death being conquered, take hope that our Savior rules all.
