Thursday Thoughts - The Great Commission
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Remember the equation? Gospel Message = GC Squared.
Today we look at the second GC...The Great Commission. Yesterday I shared how my family has experienced the love of God through the incredible people of Pizza Ranch. You truly are living out the first GC, The Great Commandment, in very tangible ways. The second GC is the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19. Jesus had spent the 3 years before this scene pouring truths into his disciples, many of which are recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. He was crucified on a cross to take on the sins of all people who love and accept the amazing gift of grace that Jesus provided. His sacrifice provided eternal life in paradise for those who put their trust in Him. Three days after the crucifixion, Jesus conquered death and rose from the grave and spent 40 days pouring his final instructions into his followers. In this final scene, Jesus is about to ascend into into the glorious throne room of heaven to take his seat next to his Father God, and he gives the final commission to his followers.
“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
At Pizza Ranch we have the unique opportunity to live out the Gospel through our day to day business activity. We have the freedom to Love God, Love Others, and are called by Jesus in this Great Commission to share this Good News of salvation with the world. That world starts in our restaurants every day! May the Lord bless Pizza Ranch to be a blessing to the world!
