We are all familiar with the story of Joshua and the Battle of Jericho - but do you remember how they got there?
We read in Joshua 3:1-4: Early in the morning Joshua and all the Israelites set out from Shittim and went to the Jordan, where they camped before crossing over. After three days the officers went throughout the camp, giving orders to the people: “When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the Levitical priests carrying it, you are to move out from your positions and follow it. Then you will know which way to go, since you have never been this way before. But keep a distance of about two thousand cubits between you and the ark; do not go near it.”
Interesting to see that going into this new land that the Lord would go ahead of them in the Ark. He also wasn't just at the front of the line but 2,000 cubits, or 3,000 feet ahead of the people! The Lord lead the way, taking his people to a land they had never been to before.
Keep that in mind during these tough times - the Lord has gone before us. While this may all seem unfamiliar and intimidating for us He has already been here.
