Tuesday Truth - Signs from God
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
God gives us signs telling us which way to go. So often we want the directions to be something as clear as a large neon sign that grabs our attention and spells out exactly what we should do. I've never yet had God show up in a physical written sign. But I have felt strong convictions that left me with a very clear directive on what he desired. Words I've read in scripture, things I've heard in sermons, the Holy Spirit stirring in my heart. Some directions are big steps like a new venture or a project that I can help with. Others are simple actions that seem insignificant or just part of a normal day, like checking in on a friend. Whether directions are for something big or small the key to receiving direction from God is to stay close to him. The closer you are to someone the better you understand them and the more likely you are to feel confident in what you're hearing or feeling encouraged to do. Get aligned with God first and then seek his direction. He wants to guide you and lead you along his path.
John 14:21 (AMPC) The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.]
