Tuesday Truth - The Golden Rule
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
We’ve all heard the phrase, “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” We probably first heard this in our early years, whether in elementary school or daycare. Did you know that this verse is in the Bible? You can find it in Luke 6:31.
However, I also want to highlight Matthew 6:14-15, where it says, “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
We are so undeserving of God’s forgiveness at times, yet He forgives us anyway, time and time again. But are we showing that same forgiveness to others? Matthew makes it clear that if we do not forgive others and extend the same grace God shows to us, He will not forgive us. This is pretty simple and straightforward: forgive others as God has forgiven you. Treat others the way you want to be treated.
