Tuesday Truths - God-Breathed
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Most of us have probably heard that the scripture, although written by around forty different people, is totally God-breathed and inspired. It’s important to trust and know that this is true. Paul writes in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” A good friend and mentor once told me, “The Word of God never comes back void.” This phrase has stuck with me. Every verse in the Bible is inspired and God-breathed by our Father in heaven. The Bible is our playbook for life. Every story is true. Every verse has significance. Paul tells us that scripture is not only needed for teaching and training, but for rebuking false gospels and knowing the difference between truth and earthly lies. By reading the Bible religiously (no pun intended), we will be equipped for every good work that God has in store for us. This Tuesday, the truth is the Bible itself! Trust and know it never comes back void!
