Ernie Swanson Jr and his family are franchisees in the Minnesota/Wisconsin market. Ernie has a heart for the community, and specifically for kids with special needs. Part of this heart comes from his amazing daughter Abbie who is has ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). One way Ernie has found that he can support the autism community is by setting aside part of his restaurant dining rooms as a place of comfort for families who also have family members with special needs.

“Abbie’s Room” is a private dining room/party room at the Eau Claire, WI, Oak Park Heights, MN, and newly opened Cottage Grove, MN locations. (see picture). Ernie will take reservations for use of the room, or simply walk up requests if available to guests any day or night of the week.

What Ernie has seen in his years of providing this service is that families can have a fun, safe, judgment-free environment to enjoy an outstanding meal together. He will have his staff dim lights, turn down music, close off room sections, make extra table space, or whatever the family requests (within reason) to help make their night enjoyable.
