Wednesday Story of Impact - Never Forgotten
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
This week's story of impact is a story that comes from our Storm Lake Pizza Ranch location! On September 22, 2014, a 16 year old named Conner Wieland died in a tragic farming accident that shook the nearby Alta Aurelia community. During that time our general manager and owners of the Storm Lake Pizza Ranch started to help raise money with the Conner Weiland Scholarship Fund. This fund was set up to help support scholarships for Alta-Aurelia high school seniors who were pursuing a career in agriculture and to carry-on the memory of Conner and his passion for farming and the agriculture industry.
Going on 9 years later, General Manager Jenny Peterson and the Storm Lake Pizza Ranch team are still committed to continuing the memory of Conner, and the annual tradition of raising money for this fund. "In 2022, we were able to help give out $500 to two Alta-Aurelia students going into agriculture and this year there are 4 students we are giving $500 each!" shared Jenny. "On March 15 we had another $1500 donated for an event we held, and we also did 10% of sales from the whole day! We will continue to do Impact Nights for this family and to carry on the memory of Conner. I want them to know the community will never forget Conner!"
Great job Jenny and team for your amazing impact!
