Friday Devotional- Taken
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Psalm 49, a passage that points at things that get in the way of living for the Lord, can be difficult to read. Very convicting. (Read Ps 49 here). The good news is that it ends with such promise. Psalm 49: 15 says, “But God will redeem my life from the grave; He will surely take me to himself.”
“This is how much God loves the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed. By believing in Him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life and will surely be “taken to Himself.” God didn’t go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again.” (John 3:16-17, The Message)
We believe that Jesus came to this Earth to save us from our sins. He lived a perfect and blameless life, yet went to the cross to die for our sins; He loves us that much. He died and was buried. Jesus died so that we may have life through Him. He rose again on the third day and is our living Savior. Anyone who believes in Jesus and places their faith in Him will stand as sinless in front of God one day. God will see Jesus in us and will accept us into heaven to be with Him forever.
May we all be Taken to Himself. To God be the glory!
