Friday Devotional - Reconciliation and Mending
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
Inspiration taken from Trinity Reformed Church in Orange City, IA from 3/31 message by Pastor Brian Keepers
Read 2 Corinthians 5:16-21!
Reconciliation is only possible through what Jesus Christ did for us on the cross.
- In order to reconcile with others, we first need to reconcile with God.
God is the one that does the mending and reconciliation of broken relationships, sin, grief, etc.
We were made for communion with God!
- Next, we need to reconcile within.
We need to forgive ourselves, trust ourselves, look into our hearts. Are they healthy? What is holding us back from mending certain people or things in our lives?
- Create reconciliation with those close to you next.
After creating reconciliation with God and within yourself, mend with others.
We can not bear witness to others if we are not reconciling ourselves.
Mathew 5: “If your brother or sister in Christ has something against you, reconcile with that brother or sister.”
- Lastly, reconcile outward.
We are ambassadors for God!
We don’t have to feel like we need to do the work - we are simply instruments that God uses to further His kingdom!
God is reconciling the world and making everything new.
God has entrusted us to help!
Are we living in such a way that others perceive we have a close relationship with Jesus?
We are already a new creation in Christ and have been given a calling - Because of reconciliation with God, ourselves, others, and the world, we can live into that calling!
