Monday Mission - Be Thankful
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
How often do you thank God for the little things in life?
Each night before supper we ask our oldest son (7 years) to pray before we eat. His typical prayer goes something like this "Dear God...(long pause while he thinks)...thank you for Mommy, for Daddy, for Brothers, for nice weather (even when we have 6" of snow outside), that we get food, that we get to play outside".
At first I wanted to correct him, saying he should thank God for more 'deeper' things; like sending his Son, forgiving our sins, providing for us, etc. However, after thinking about it, we should be thankful for those 'little' things as well. How many children don't have a Mom or Dad, or Brothers/Sisters, don't have food on the table? My 7 year old taught me a lesson...be thankful for EVERYTHING, even the snow outside.
