Monday Mission - Creativity
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
This week, let’s explore creativity.
Let’s start at the beginning of everything. Genesis 1:1 - "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth".
God spoke into existence all we see and don’t see. God created us and gave us abilities: to write, to speak, to design, to build... to create. We are all designed with a creative purpose so that we can serve others and to speak to others in various ways... to point them to the Creator!
And our creative expression can be a form of worship of our creator!
The other day, I was working on this Oil Pastel painting/drawing. As I was working on the sunset, I was using that time to thank God for the beautiful masterpiece he creates every day. For me, using my creative expression is like singing a song to him. "How beautiful is the sky... the flowers... the trees... that you created!" I like to use my art time as a time to explore God, myself, and who God created me to be. I am so thankful for how God likes to speak during those quiet moments.
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.”
Your mission of the week, if you chose to accept it: to consider what innate skills and creative abilities you have that God may be calling you to use to positively impact the world.
Paint that painting. Snap that photo. Knit that sweater. Sing that song. And make that pizza.
