Monday Mission - Fire's Result
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
I’m not one to talk about high school very often, but in the last 2 weeks, it’s come up several times. The high school I went to wasn’t the wealthy high school in my area. It wasn’t the nicest and we weren’t the best in sports. Off-handedly I joked that “well, if the fire doesn’t destroy you, it will refine you!”
We all face fires, whether they’re big raging fires or smaller smoldering ones. The question is whether those fires will destroy you or refine you like gold?
Your mission today is to think about what fires you are fighting. Are they destroying you, stealing your joy, making your days long and your heart weary? Maybe. But what matters is what we do with those circumstances. They can destroy us or we can trust in God, continually take that situation to Him in prayer and trust that no matter the outcome, it will refine us in one way or another.
1 Peter 1:7 – Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire. And these trials will prove that your faith is worth much more than gold that can be destroyed. They will show that you will be given praise and honor and glory when Jesus Christ returns.
P.S. I like to do these blogs in theme-format, so be sure to check back each day for more about fires and what we can learn about God through them 😊
