Monday Mission - Is It Important? Then Make it Important!
So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31
I'm quite sure that many of you who are reading this have either attempted and perhaps even succeeded with following a Bible in a Year Program. A reading program built to read The Word from Genesis to Revelation in a calendar year. Such a good exercise for the spirit and heart to find that daily time in God's message to us.
We have a small group at the office that does this nearly every year, and without fail some of the group fall behind in their daily reading, so far behind in fact that they simply call it quits. **I slowly raise my hand admitting I am guilty of this**
A dear friend of mine in talking about this recently said "If it's important, than make it important". Such a simple and straight forward lesson, but so profound as well. If we (again, talking to myself here) truly believe in the benefit of spending each day in the Word then why not make it a priority? Why not set aside 15-20 minutes before the kids wake up or before going to bed, Lord knows checking on my fantasy baseball team or scrolling Twitter (sorry, X), can wait it's turn.
