Monday Mission--Think About What You Think About

Your thoughts have power. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "You are what you think all day long!" So when you think about what you think about, what comes to mind? When you ask yourself this question, how are you centering your thoughts. If you are anything like me, at times it's a huge challenge to find framework in the many thoughts that circulate inside my head. The apostle Paul also helps put thoughts in to perspective in Philippians 4:8 (NIV), "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." The mission this week is to think about what you think about, and to compare your thoughts with Paul's challenge to the Phillippians. Ask God to help guide and center your thoughts around what is true, what is noble, what is right, what is pure, what is lovely, what is admirable, what is excellent, what is praiseworthy. . .and try to think more about such things!
