Monday Mission - Unspoken Prayers

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.
— 1 Corinthians 10:31

Monday Mission
Unspoken Prayers

If we don’t have the courage to speak our prayers out, how will we know how to give God glory?

That’s something that’s been on my mind.

How many people are afraid to speak out what’s truly in their hearts? Is it because they are afraid of being rejected, judged, excluded? Or does it stem from the doubts they have from their own minds? Maybe it’s because so many have never experienced others leading the way for them.

Whatever the reason, we are called to something much greater than to shrink down in mediocrity. We are called to be lights in the world.

“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.” –Matthew 5:14-15

This verse means, plainly, that light is meant to be used and shared, not hidden or covered up. We can live out our faith and share goodness with those around us by bravely shining our own inner light, and by doing so, reflect God’s glory. All it takes is one candle being lit to create a room full of light. All it takes is one spark, one word of praise, one brave soul to open their mouth for there to be a ripple effect of proclaiming the glory of God.

My challenge for you this week is when you see God’s goodness around you, recognize and share that, so others may follow suit. May God be glorified!
